Maybe we should start getting in line now.
Disney has announced that their mega-fan event, the D23 Expo, will return to the Anaheim Convention Center for the third time on August 9-11, 2013.
Over 40,000 people attended the 2011 event. Says D23 head Steven Clark, "The D23 Expo has become a phenomenal way for Disney fans to see everything they love about Disney all in one place — from Disney’s biggest stars and latest innovations to unforgettable performances live on stage,"
Celebrities appearing at last year's Expo included Dick Van Dyke, John Lasseter, Paige O'Hara, Jodi Benson, Billy Crystal and Jon Cryer.
The popular Disney Legends Ceremony will be back, as will the Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibit, featuring all manner of movie memorabilia and collectibles from the Disney vault.
Disney has drawn fire in the past from disgruntled fans who complained of excessive lines and insufficient seating at popular presentations at the Expo. Disney has promised to offer expanded seating at certain venues for the 2013 event.
Tickets will go on sale one year in advance on August 9, 2012. No word yet on cost or whether there will be tiered pricing for those who want to buy their way to the fronts of the lines.
